Special Services

Fun Service

Our minister, Rev. Tim Kutzmark, conducts the majority of the Sunday services. Occasionally guest ministers, from both within and outside our denomination, will bring their own special perspectives to a service. In addition, our Worship Arts Committee conducts several lay-led services during the year, often departing from the usual format, adding some variety to the Sunday experience. Also some special services have become traditional at UUCR: our Opening Sunday Water Communion service, a December Music Service featuring the choir, our Christmas Eve Candlelighting Services, a traditional Christmas Sunday service, several arts related services, New Member Recognition Sunday, Youth Sunday, a service conducted by members of the Senior High Youth Group, and Celebration Sunday, the last service of the church year.

Upcoming Services

Sunday, May 11, 2008 – 10:30 AM

“Mamma, A Rainbow”
Rev. Tim Kutzmark

Join us this Mother’s Day as we remember and celebrate the many women who’ve impacted our lives through the years..  As part of today’s service of readings and reflections, we are invited to bring pictures and/or mementos of the women who have nurtured, shaped, or inspired us during our lives.  These will be lovingly placed on a special altar that will become the centerpiece of our worship today.  We’ll also celebrate the baby dedication of Alex Leonard Burritt, son of Robyn Hymers and Leonard Burritt.

“Bridge To Tomorrow”
The Senior Bridging Service
Rev. Tim Kutzmark, Aileen Dashurova, members of The Senior High Youth Program

One of the most important things a congregation can do is to join together to celebrate rites of passage and the cycles of life: birth, coming of age, life transitions, marriage, and death.  Join us for our annual service celebrating our graduating seniors and their passage to young adulthood. The UUCR Choir will sing, Rev. Tim and Aileen Dashurova (our Director of Religious Education) will offer short reflections, several of our graduating seniors will share from their heart, and we’ll join in sacred ritual to honor and bless our high school students who will be making this important rite of passage.   PLEASE NOTE: Immediately after today’s service, all members of the congregation are asked to remain for our Annual Meeting, which will include the presentation of the 08-09 Church Year Budget and election of new officers.
