Dear Friend:

Welcome our website, and to this special spiritual community. The Unitarian Univeralist Church in Reading is a vibrant church that draws people from all over the North Metropolitan Boston area. We might just be the church you have been searching for!

We are an intentionally inclusive congregation that welcomes people of all ages, religious backgrounds, cultural origins, differing abilities, political views, gender identity, and sexual orientations.

The Unitarian Universalist Church in Reading is a sacred place for discovery, healing, and transformation. It is a community that nurtures our individual and shared spiritual journeys. This is a place to bring your questions and doubts, and perhaps discover some answers.

No one here is going to tell you what you have to believe. We're never going to tell you that there is only one way or book that leads to religious truth. We will encourage you to explore your own heart and mind to discover your own connection to life's meaning and purpose. And we're here to help one another along the way.

At our church, we learn from all the world's religious traditions, and from the wonders of nature, science, poetry, and music. All of these are ways that the Spirit of Life speaks to us, and through us. We also reach out into the world, trying to transform the oppressions that break people's spirits, hopes, and lives. We are committed to justice for all people.

At our church, we call no one a sinner, but we know how hard is the struggle to live a life that is good and true. We aren't going to saddle your children with lots of guilt or fear. Rather, we will help them discover that religion is for joy and for life. We celebrate our children and make sure they know that they are a precious gift to the world.

At the Unitarian Universalist Church of Reading you will find plenty of energy and passion, care and concern. We know how to laugh, and we know how to hold each other when we cry.
