Youth Ministry
For teens in grade levels 9 through 12
The many diverse ways that teenagers participate in congregational life comprise a vibrant Youth Ministry at UUCR. Many youth worship on Sundays while others have a leadership role in worship. Some youth teach in the Faith Development Program while others are musicians in regular and special worship experiences, and still others are members of committees. The many social justice ministries at UUCR offer compelling ways for youth to put their faith in action in local and global initiatives. The Minister, Director of Faith Development and other congregational leaders welcome youth involvement in all aspects of church life, and are always available to explore the possibilities.
SHYP (Senior High Youth Program)
SHYP is a place for connection and community for high-school aged youth. A Youth/Adult Committee (YAC) plans the programming centered on community building, social action, leadership, learning, worship, and youth-adult relations. Meetings are most Sunday evenings, with other scheduled events.
