Lifespan Faith Development for Children, Youth and Adults

UUCR: Our Place for Life-Long Learning

Our church is a special place; a place where each and every person is important. We want you to be comfortable here to ask questions, to reflect on what matters to you, to talk about feelings and ideas. As a community, we value and encourage religious growth and learning for everyone at every stage of life. We welcome you!

Tim Kutzmark, Minister

Our Goals

The goal of our lifespan Faith Development programs and experiences for people of all ages intended to promote:

  • the development of strong Unitarian Universalist identity, values, and action
  • understanding and appreciation of the many religious traditions and wisdom from all cultures
  • the means to articulate, contemplate and respond to life's great questions;
  • a sense of belonging and connection through widespread participation in our Faith Development experiences, congregational life, and the larger community.

Our Philosophy

Our Faith Development Program reflects the diverse, passionate, and creative resources in our community of seekers.  A combination of age-based weekly explorations along with multi-age and intergenerational experiences create a place of learning and growth and belonging for all children, from birth to young adulthood!   Such experiences are grounded in the four strands of a person’s faith development -- ethical, spiritual, Unitarian Universalist identity, and faith.  The Faith Development community and program is firmly grounded in the Purposes and Principles of the Unitarian Universalist Association, adopted in 1984. We, the member congregations of the Unitarian Universalist Association, covenant to affirm and promote:

  • The inherent worth and dignity of every person;
  • Justice, equity and compassion in human relations;
  • Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregations;
  • A free and responsible search for truth and meaning;
  • The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large;
  • The goal of world community with peace, liberty and justice for all;
  • Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.
