UUCR  AFFINITY GROUPS/ACTIVITIES 2005-2006

  • Brown Bag Lunches – Every Tuesday at 12 PM, you are invited to join with the minister and Director of Religious Education for an informal “bring your own” brown bag lunch in Austin Room.
  • Buddhist Meditation Group - The Buddhist Meditation Group meets every Sunday at 7:00 p.m. in Sawyer House.  New people are more than welcome.  No meditation experience necessary!  Contact Laurie Thibault, 781-944-3243, for more information. 
  • Chalice Circles – A Chalice Circle is a small group of people who meet on a regular basis for the purpose of establishing bonds, fostering connection and caring, providing an avenue for personal growth and spiritual development.  Nora Buckley, coordinator. 781-944-7591,.
  • Choir- Like to sing? This group sings at most Sunday services.   Contact Mark Bennett, Director. 617-217-1601, or Sharyn Taitz, 781-942-7011.
  • Creative Hands and Caring Hearts Women's Fellowship  -  The women's creativity group meets on the first and third Wednesday of every month at the Sharyn Taitz’s' home on Main St. in Reading.  This group offers fellowship, encouragement and a warm, friendly environment in which to pursue a handiwork or craft.  Contact: Sharyn Taitz, 781-942-7011.   
  • Ferry Beach – our annual June beach retreat for members and friends.  Contact Sue Delaney, 978-657-5415.
  • Groundhogs/Grounds Group – If you are a gardener, this is the group for you! Help care for church grounds during the summer.  Contact:  Ruth White, 781-944-5869, or Carolyn Grace, 781-944-9353

  • Ivy Chord Coffee House – Great folk music and good fellowship.  Help with refreshments, CD sales, tickets, or flyers.  Contact Beth Murray, 781-229-9394.
  • Kris Kringle Fair – Our annual all-church all-day annual Fall fundraiser.  Everyone gets into the act!  Contact Co-chairs Iris Hardin 781-942-2324, or Marilyn Altbush, 781-944-9500.
  • LTOTM - (Last Tuesday of the Month Book Club) A book a month to read and discuss.  Meets at members’ homes.  Contact: Margaret Soli, 781-944-4426.
